Using the catalogue

The catalogue is your main entry point to the Library's vast collection. You can use it to:

  • search for a specific item or a general topic
  • view digitised pictures, maps, pamphlets, sheet music and more for free
  • order copies of items in the collection to be sent to you as digital files (charges apply).

If you register as a Library user you can also:

  • read ebooks and find articles in newspapers, scholarly journals and magazines from home (if you live in Victoria)
  • request items from storage to view at the Library
  • keep a record of your searches and favourite items, and add tags and comments in the catalogue
